15 adorable presents ideas for her
Hey there, bonjour !
That special time of the year is coming up real soon, bientôt Noel ! Among the warming feelings of spending time with family, the holidays, fun and merry feelings, you know that a few problematic situations such as, preparations, time management and – you guessed it – finding the perfect gift will come up. Now today I want to ease up your troubles by presenting you with The list of the most awesome gifts you could get for your average all-things-French fangirl (we are not talking about Django’s unchained Monsieur Candy here). And if you're looking for manly (or gruesome, somehow they seem related) ideas, have a look over FrenchLover blog by my friend and colleague Angel, right here.

Alright I know, Eiffel towers how original !I would not think of that… Well, yes! There are basically tons of possibilities here because the iconic tower embodies various daily life objects, so that’s combining your special friend's passion for France to something else entirely, be it practical or decorative.
Now when it comes to France, I guess one of the 5 words that go through your mind at first has to involve some kind of food, right? Well, if you want to stay on theme and get your loved ones some delicious treat other than the usual stuff, you might want to have a look here. It doesn’t have to be expensive and using Amazon is certainly the safest way to deliver food from all across the Atlantic.
Of course, « French food » doesn’t have to be macarons exclusively, because I trust you can get your hands on those pretty easily, but what about Calissons? They are just as cute and tasty as their famous cousin and a little more original perhaps? A delightful surprise!
Pierre Hermé : Macarons Cooking Book
Obviously, if you absolutely have to go for macaron, then let me present you with the only recipe book you will ever need to bake perfectly gorgeous treats. And if you're not certain of the cooking skills of your girl, rest assured that the stunning pictures will be more than enough.
French Violet Candies
Did you know that France actually has over 600 candies and chocolate local specialties? You will never run of tasty candies! Here’s one of my all-time favorite, violette candies. If the idea of eating a flower disturbs you, fear not, for this is a well-know treat you definitely won’t have to taste unsavory flavors here.
(for example: I get that not everyone likes cheese, but violette candies will satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth)
Sea Salt Caramel Candies
I’m not sure how many « all-time favorite » I’m allowed to have, but this is at least in my top 3. Far from the traditional (and rather heavy) sweet caramel, the pinch of salt adds a distinguished fragrance to the sauce (here candies) that blends in perfectly with its lovely creamy texture. An absolute must for gourmets.
Maxim's Gift Box for Chocolate Lovers
Not sure what to get to your Chocovore friend? The Parisian restaurants Maxim's (own by no other than M. Pierre Cardin, mind you) offers a selection of authentic French chocolates packed with care and directly imported from Paris. Quoi d'autre ?
Châtelaine Gift box
I recently got a tip from a student living in Canada : all year long she waits for the Black Friday sales to refill for the coming year : l’Occitane, Vichy, la Roche-Posay… France has a plethora of exquisite brands of cosmetics, skin care, perfumes… The hand creams gift box by La Châtelaine is a great and practical bundle for any girl who knows how important details are. Her French manicure will only look better!
Miss Dior by Christian Dior
A classic fragrance for your classy lady. Miss Dior by Christian Dior is best for younger women as it is more delicate and airy than the iconic J’adore.
Prés de Provence mini soap
If there is one place where the sweet enticing scent of flowers is king it’s la Provence (Grasse is one of the largest producer in the world). Lavender, orange, pomegranate and more in one lovely package to refresh and add some flowery fantasy to fight the winter cold.
Lancôme – La vie est belle
Certainly my favorite French fragrance, light, yet enthralling, this perfume won my favors by being the perfect scent for sunny spring days or romantic, candle-lit dates. She won't need anything else.
Jonathan Adler Champagne Candle
When I first saw this, I got "You must be kidding" but the result is so lovely and the fragrances ( a blend of rasperries, champagne, grapefruit scents) are so nice I would definitely consider this candle as a great option for a lady who loves original, luxurious candle perfumes and chic interior design.

Jessie Steele Parisian Toile Apron
You thought we were over the Eiffel tower trip? Not quite yet. I fell head over heels for this cutie and even I, a French gal who refuses to were anything related to Eiffel tower (I'm too much of a cliché already) would love this piece. Because, well it's lovely, printed, well-fitted (am I the only one who hate Grandma's loose aprons?) and has a lovely ribbon on the side, a.k.a the French Touch.
Here we are my dears, 15 cute and adorable gifts for your special little lady! Once again, this is a very personal list of gifts that I would get for myself, a friend or family member. And the "girlyness" is part of it!
If you are looking for more manly (or simply less pinky) present ideas, have a look to my colleague and friend Angel from FrenchLover!
